Swimming Sports

It was the best swimming sports I had ever done I came 1st in freestyle, 3rd in breaststroke and 3rd in two lengths freestyle!

I had never come to any thing in any swimming sports before. When the water hit my finger tips in the first length I felt so fast and happy, I reach the end of the pool. Just then I get handed a block feeling butterfly jiggling in my tummy. I go up to the desk and I find out I came first! I was shocked because I had never come first in school race before! I excitedly scramble back to kiwi house feeling so happy.

I waited a while for when brushstroke was going. Suddenly the loudspeaker says that it’s breaststroke. I quickly dart out to the line feeling very nervous at the beat of my heart. Suddenly I get put in a lane. ON YOUR MARKS! GET SET! BANG! The clapper goes and I’m off! Shaking nervously I reach the end. I get handed another block! WHAT HOW IS POSSIBLE! I’ve never gotten two blocks in a row, I go up to the table and I find out that I come 2ND PLACE!!!!! I was so excited I dawdled back to my seat feeling so excited.

Later on, it’s backstroke, I go up again wondering how well I will do. I step up and go join the line. Nervously I dawdle up and stand on the side of the pool...I wait...Suddenly I hear it ON YOUR MARKS! GET SET! BANG!! The clapper goes again and I’m off again sailing through the water with confidence riding on my back, I race to the end. H H H I’m puffed and I get handed another block! I race to the table again and this time I came 3RD! I am so pleased, I can’t wait to tell my family! It’s now the end of the day and it’s time to go home and I can’t wait for next swimming sports.

Bike Reflection

I was very excited to be going on our bikes. We started and I was off I think I did good better than what I thought I would at the box game. It was quite easy to say in a straight line.

The next week I found the turtle race was quite challenging because I always came first when your supposed to come last!

I also found the box game was still a bit challenging but I did better than last time.

It now came to the last week and this week was a bit more challenging we had to take one hand off the bike and high five the other person, but the most challenging of all was passing them a cone with one hand on the bike!

My Proud Moment Term 4

This term my proud moment is when I got second in shot put and I got to go to Lower Waipa. I had never been to Lower Wiapa  before, it was so much fun and I had a really good experience there. 

My Inquiry Term 4

This term for inquiry we had to improve either Taupo hot pools or Happy Vally ski fields. I chose Taupo hot pools   because I found that the two tunnel hedger slides had too many sharp turns and you couldn't sit up in the slide you had to lie down. My solution to this is that they should make the tunnels a lot wider so people can sit up in it and the turns should be less sharp turns.

I was so nerviness, my knees were shacking, my heart was beating faster and faster. I could see my mother in the front row it was so exiting! Suddenly the guitar started playing and we were off we all sang our best, I tried so hard. I was smiling so much. When it was finished I could see my mum smiling from ear to ear, I was so happy.

Welcome To 2016


Hi my name is Lily McPherson, I'm a year 5 I have heaps of talents like Jazz, swimming and I've just started guitar,  and my favorite subject is reading it's favorite because I really enjoy falling in the book and having cool adventures.
I also like spelling maths but I'm not a fan of writing.
At home I have mum a dad and a little sister called India and she is five years old, I also have a cat called Frank witch my dad got for his birthday, we have a brown chicken called Sun, a white chicken called Dotty, we also have two lambs my sisters ones called Daisy and my ones called Cookie. We live in the country near Pirongia mountain.
This year I'm really looking forded to the snow camp because I know it will be very experiencing for me.

Snow Camp

 In term three we went to the snow, it was a hole lot of fun! In day one we went on a spectacular nature walk! It was really experiencing seeing all the nature. It was a bit of a soggy walk but it was definitely worth it!

Day two was the best of all it was when we got to go on the ski mountains! When we got there it was surprisingly not as cold as I expected because I had a lot layers on. When we got on the ski fields we got to go play in the snow while we while were waiting for our lesson. When we were playing in the snow we tried to make a snowman and we went sledding down the mountain! When it was our lesson we had to get used to the skies by trying to walk around in them, after we got used to the skies we started to ski down the mountain slowly once we got a bit better we went up the magic carpet, went up the top of the mountain and skied all the way down to the bottom, then did it over and over and over again! It was so much  fun I would love to do it again! 

 Day three we packed up all our stuff and headed to Taupo hot pools on the way home. When we  got to there we all raced out to all get in the pool, when we were in the pool we played  until it was time to go. When it was time to go we all got out and when home. It was the best  experience I've ever had!!!

This term we were doing speeches and I had heaps of fun researching, writing and presenting my speech. I also have a video showing my speech "Hope you enjoy!"

Bird shelter

This is my plan and a model I made for a bird shelter.  The things I designed on my plan were hard to make so I had to change some of them. I am very proud of my model it took me a long time to make.
